Call on President Biden to designate the Maah Daah Hey National Monument
A coalition including the Three Affiliated Tribes, the Standing Rock Sioux, Spirit Lake Nation, and conservation and community organizations are leading the effort to establish a national monument along the Maah Daah Hey Trail in the Badlands.
If the Maah Daah Hey National Monument is created, 139,729 acres will be permanently protected for future generations. Indigenous people will be able to continue their cultural practices on the land as they have since time immemorial, ranchers will be able to graze their cattle on protected grasslands to sustain their way of life, and recreationists will be able to enjoy the beauty and outdoor health benefits of the Badlands of North Dakota.

We call on President Biden to use the Antiquities Act to designate the Maah Daah Hey National Monument in the North Dakota Badlands and support this proposal to:
Honor and protect the sacred places and landscapes of the Mandan, Hidatsa, Arikara peoples.
Preserve the dwindling grasslands, and protect critical biodiversity, wildlife habitat, and wildlife migration corridors.
Safeguard unique cultural, paleontologic, and geologic sites.
Help ensure more equitable access to nature for local communities.
There are 134 national monuments in the US, and none currently in ND. Now is the time to create the Maah Daah Hey National Monument in the Badlands of North Dakota.
The beauty of this magnificent landscape should be preserved for all people to enjoy. Please take a moment to show your support for our efforts.
